Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Alpha Laboratory, Municipal Committee, M.C. Road, Banur, Punjab 140601 ("we", "us") collects and uses your personal data, including health information, when you visit our lab, book a test or use this website. We follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and other Indian laws that apply to us.

What we collect

  • Details you give us when booking: name, phone number, age, sex, address (for home collection), the tests you need and any message.
  • Your doctor's prescription and old reports, if you share them.
  • Test samples and the results we produce from them.
  • Basic website data such as pages visited and device type, through cookies and analytics. This does not identify you by name.

Why we use it

We use your data to book and carry out your tests, contact you about your appointment, prepare and send your report, and keep records required by law. We do not sell your data, and we do not use your health information for advertising.

Your health data

Test results are sensitive and we treat them as confidential. Reports are shared only with you, or with a person you authorise (for example a family member or your doctor). If you want someone else to collect or receive your report, tell us at the time of booking or in writing.

When a specialised test is sent to a partner reference laboratory, we share only what that lab needs to run the test. Those labs are bound to keep it confidential. We may also share data where the law requires it, for example notifiable disease reporting to health authorities.

WhatsApp and phone

If you ask for your report on WhatsApp, we send it to the number you give us. Please make sure it's correct. WhatsApp is run by a third party under its own privacy terms.

How long we keep it

We keep test records for as long as medical record rules and our legitimate needs require, so you and your doctor can compare past results. Booking enquiries that don't lead to a test are deleted when no longer needed.

Security

Records are kept on access-controlled systems at the lab. Staff access only what they need for their work. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

Your rights

Under the DPDP Act you can ask to access your data, correct it, or have it erased where we're not required to keep it. You can withdraw consent for future use, and you can raise a grievance with us. If we don't resolve it, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India.
