Our story since 2014
Alpha Laboratory Banur opened in 2014 with a simple aim: give people in Banur a local lab, so routine tests didn't mean a trip up the highway to Mohali or Chandigarh.
We've worked as a computerised laboratory from day one. Results go into the system, the report is printed from it, and every past result stays on file. That last part has turned out to matter more than we expected. A patient who has tested with us for years can see how their sugar or haemoglobin has moved, and so can their doctor.
Twelve years on, the lab is still on the same road. These days most patients get their report as a PDF on WhatsApp as well as on paper.

Our pathologist and team
Every report is checked and authorised by the reporting pathologist before it's released. Our technicians run the samples, and our phlebotomists take blood at the counter and on home collection visits.
If you'd like to speak to the pathologist about what a test measures, ask at the counter and we'll arrange a time.
Equipment and quality checks
The lab runs automated analysers for blood counts, biochemistry and hormone tests, connected to our reporting software so results go straight into your report instead of being retyped by hand. Fewer manual steps means fewer chances for a typing error.
For specialised tests that a single lab doesn't run in-house, we collect the sample here and send it to a partner reference laboratory. We tell you when that's the case and give you the expected report date when you book.
How we keep reports accurate
- We check the patient's name and age on the tube before the sample is taken, at the lab and at home.
- Samples are labelled at the point of collection, never later.
- Abnormal results are rechecked before the report goes out, and critical values are phoned through to the patient or doctor.
- Reports show the method, units and our reference ranges, so any doctor can read them.
- Reports go only to the patient or someone the patient has authorised.
